Exhibition "Military Regulations of Principality and Kingdom of Serbia"
17. 04. 2012
On occasion of the Armed Forces Day, Military Museum and Military Archive have prepared an exhibition “Military Regulations of Principality and Kingdom of Serbia”.
Exhibition presents collection of regulations from 19th and 20th century that were of great significance to development of Serbian Armed Forces. They regulated structure and operability of the Army. At the time, Serbian Army transformation was based on war experiences and modeled on military organizations of powerful European countries. First steps were made in the First Serbian Uprising, and the first Military Rule was established in 1832. Military organization has been continued on established principles until 1878 and proclamation of Independence, after which it took more serious course of reorganization and modernization. Those steps were the foundations of Serbian military success in Balkan wars and the First World War. Finally, as a modern and well organized, Serbian Army was incorporated into Army of Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
Exhibition will be opened on April 20, at 1 pm. For visitors, exhibition will last from April 21 until May 13. Entrance is free.
